Writing

Find writing tools for everyday notes, creative writing, lettering, journaling, correspondence and paper-based composition: fountain pens, dip nibs, brush pens, notebooks, papers, inks and accessories.

This collection brings together tools for writing by hand with more control: choosing a pen, testing ink flow, working on letterforms, preparing a notebook, building a lettering practice or keeping studio notes. Select the tool according to the use: long writing, precise line, thick-and-thin strokes, drawn letters, envelopes, cards or creative research on paper.

Practical markers

Before choosing a pen, check the paper, ink flow and writing use.

A fountain pen, dip nib, brush pen and notebook are not chosen in the same way for daily writing, lettering, journaling or cards. The right setup depends on paper smoothness, ink drying time, pressure and the length of the writing session.

Tool

Use a fountain pen for long writing, a dip nib for expressive lettering, a brush pen for thick-and-thin strokes and a fineliner for clean outlines.

Paper

Smooth paper helps ink tools move cleanly. Textured paper works better with graphite, sketching and drier tools, but may catch flexible nibs.

Use

A notebook for daily notes, a loose sheet for testing, a thicker card for final pieces. Format changes comfort, spacing and correction.

Simple rule: choose the use first: daily writing, lettering, journaling, cards or ink work. Then choose the pen, paper and ink together.
