Dip Pen Set – Pen Holder, Interchangeable Nibs, and Ink
This set includes a wooden pen holder, a bottle of ink, and several interchangeable metal nibs for writing, tracing, composing letters, or drawing with ink.
Unlike a fountain pen, a dip pen does not have a permanent reservoir. The nib holds a small amount of ink, enough for a few words or lines, and then must be refilled as you work.
Each nib reacts differently depending on its shape, flexibility, holding angle, and the paper used. Some favor line thinness, others hold more ink or offer more variation when pressure changes.

This set allows you to discover pen writing, calligraphy, correspondence, and ink drawing with a single pen holder.
The line width and behavior depend on the chosen nib. Not all nibs are flexible: if a nib resists, do not increase pressure significantly.
The set keeps the pen holder, ink, and nibs together after use. It is available in dark wood or light wood finish.

FIRST USE
Some new metal nibs may have a slight protective film. If the ink beads up instead of adhering, clean the nib with a little warm water and mild soap, then rinse and dry it completely.
Insert the nib into the pen holder until it is stable, without forcing or deforming it. Dip only the metal part that holds the ink, without submerging the pen holder.
Before writing on the final page, test a few lines on a scrap piece of the same paper. This allows you to check the flow, line width, drying time, and ink behavior.
CHOOSING THE NIB AND PAPER
To write finely, choose a narrow nib, hold the pen holder with light pressure, and refill as soon as the line becomes dry or irregular.
For a more expressive line, try a wider or more flexible nib. Pressure should remain progressive: the tines should be able to spread without remaining deformed.
To prevent ink from bleeding, choose smooth, less absorbent paper. Basis weight alone is not enough: thick but poorly sized paper can cause the ink to spread.
USE & CARE
Lightly touch the inner edge of the bottle after dipping to remove any drop that might fall onto the paper. Start with an angle close to 45°, then adjust it according to the nib and desired width.
After use, remove the nib from the pen holder, rinse it quickly with clear water before the ink dries, then wipe it with a lint-free cloth.
The nib must be completely dry before being replaced in the box. Do not leave a nib soaking in the bottle: the ink can dry on the metal or settle in the pen holder's joint.
