Bamboo Tea Tongs – Gong Fu Cha Accessory for Hot Cups and Items

These bamboo tea tongs are designed to handle hot cups, lids, and small accessories during a Gong Fu Cha preparation.

They allow you to grasp the rim of a cup, move an item rinsed in hot water, or adjust a serving element without direct finger contact.

Bamboo offers a light, precise, and stable grip. Its simple design complements tea preparation gestures without adding a cumbersome tool to the table.

INFORMATION

In Gong Fu Cha practice, cups, gaiwans, lids, and accessories are often rinsed or heated before serving. Tongs allow for handling them with more distance, without interrupting the preparation.

They are used to move a hot cup, adjust a lid, grasp a small element, or organize the tea table with a cleaner and more precise gesture.

Bamboo is lightweight and naturally suited for tea accessories. Its color, grain, and finishes may vary slightly between pieces.

CHARACTERISTICS

Type: Gong Fu Cha accessory
Material: natural bamboo
Manufacturing: announced traditional technique
Function: grasp, move, adjust, and organize tea items during preparation

USE & CARE

Use the tongs to grasp the rim of a cup, move a small accessory rinsed in hot water, or adjust a lid. Avoid forcing them on items that are too heavy or unstable.

The tongs limit direct contact with heat, but do not replace thermal protection for boiling hot items. Handle with care, especially after rinsing with very hot water.

Wipe dry after use with a soft cloth. Avoid prolonged soaking, standing water, and direct heat sources to preserve the bamboo.

CREATE YOUR TEA SPACE

For a complete Gong Fu Cha preparation, these tongs can accompany the 6-piece Gong Fu Cha set, with gaiwan, pitcher, and cups.

For a more compact tasting, they can also be used with the 150 ml hand-painted gaiwan or the stoneware gaiwan with two cups.

To measure and guide the leaves, you can complement it with the bamboo duo with tea scoop and adjusting stick.

To organize the tea table, they can join the compact bamboo tea tray or the rectangular solid wood tea tray.

🤍 Ikane Workshop Tip
Prepare before acting: heat the cups, place the tongs within reach, then handle each element without rushing. The gesture remains cleaner when the table is already organized.
