Bamboo duo – tea scoop and adjusting pick for Gong Fu Cha

This bamboo duo includes a tea scoop and a thin pick to measure, transfer, and adjust leaves during a Gong Fu Cha preparation, with a gaiwan, teapot, or small tea table.

The scoop allows you to take a portion of leaves, then slide them cleanly into the gaiwan or teapot, without touching them directly with your fingers.

The adjusting pick helps guide the leaves, free any that are stuck, or slightly reorganize the material in the vessel, without tamping or crushing the leaves.

INFORMATION

These accessories are useful for preparing loose-leaf tea with greater precision. They allow you to measure, move, and adjust the leaves without unnecessarily breaking them or scattering the material on the table.

The scoop structures the first step of preparation: taking the right amount, observing the leaves, then pouring them into the gaiwan or teapot. The pick then intervenes to guide or clear the leaves if necessary.

Bamboo is lightweight, easy to handle, and suitable for precise tea gestures. Its shade, grain, and details may vary slightly from piece to piece.

FEATURES

Contents: tea scoop and thin adjusting pick
Material: bamboo
Use: measuring, transferring, and adjusting leaves
Function: scooping, pouring, guiding, and clearing leaves without pressing them

USE & CARE

Use the scoop to take dry leaves, then slide them in a simple motion into the gaiwan or teapot. Avoid tamping the leaves to preserve their shape.

Use the pick to guide the leaves, free any that are stuck, or adjust their placement. It is not meant to compress the leaves or strongly scratch the bottom of the vessel.

Wipe dry after use with a soft cloth. Avoid prolonged soaking, standing water, and direct heat sources to preserve the bamboo.

CREATE YOUR TEA SPACE

For a simple Gong Fu Cha preparation, this duo can be paired with the stoneware gaiwan with two cups, suitable for short infusions and small servings.

To organize the tea table and collect rinsing water, it can accompany the compact bamboo tea tray.

For a more minimalist preparation, without a reservoir, you can also use it with the solid wood rectangular tea preparation tray.

🤍 Ikane Workshop Tip
Scoop without tamping, pour in a single motion, then use the pick only to clear or guide the leaves. This way, the tea maintains a cleaner preparation, without unnecessarily breaking the material.
