Celadon ceramic dish — for preparing ink

€18,00

Celadon ceramic dish — for preparing ink, diluting pigments, and accompanying calligraphic strokes.

Small glazed ceramic dish designed to hold a few drops of ink, water, or pigment before working on a stroke. Its slightly concave surface allows for progressive dilutions and more precise control over value variations.

The bamboo motif discreetly appears under the celadon glaze, revealed by light and water movements. Each shade changes slightly depending on the ink used, the amount of liquid, and the viewing angle.

Suitable for calligraphy, sumi-e, plant-based inks, or light pigment mixtures. It can also temporarily hold a brush between strokes.

Celadon is a traditional ceramic developed in Asia over several centuries, renowned for its soft glazes, mineral hues, and its ability to subtly reveal textures.

Features
Material: Glazed celadon ceramic
Dimensions: 9.7 cm × H 2 cm
Usage: Ink dilution, pigment preparation, sumi-e, calligraphy, temporary brush rest

🤍 Ikane workshop tip
Preparing several dilution levels in the dish allows for more vibrant and less uniform blacks. A few drops are often enough to completely transform the depth of the line.
