Wood Carving Tools – Hand Knives, Sharpening, and Roll-Up Pouch

This set brings together several manual carving tools for whittling, hollowing, removing material, and working wood with greater precision.

Each blade has a different shape to assist with a stage of the work: roughing out an area, refining a contour, carving a curve, detailing, or cleaning a cut. Carving is built up slowly, chip by chip, following the wood grain.

The set also includes a sharpening stone, a polishing accessory, and a roll-up pouch. This keeps the tools protected, better organized, and easier to transport between sessions.

INFORMATION

This set is designed for both beginners in wood carving and more regular artisanal practices. It allows you to discover several blade shapes without buying each tool separately.

The knives are used to progressively remove material, while the hook tool allows for working on certain hollow, curved, or concave shapes.

Wood reacts according to its species, grain direction, and moisture content. For initial attempts, it is preferable to start on softwood, with short and controlled cuts.

FEATURES

Contents: carving knives, hook tool, sharpening stone, polishing accessory, and roll-up pouch
Materials: stainless steel and wood
Use: wood carving, manual whittling, material removal, artisanal woodworking
Tool length: approximately 16.2 to 17.2 cm
Handle dimensions: approximately 4.7 to 6 cm
Storage: rollable textile pouch

USE & PRECAUTIONS

Start by securing or stabilizing the wood piece, then work with short strokes. The blade should advance progressively, without forcing, to avoid slips and fiber tear-out.

Work as much as possible with the wood grain. When the material resists or splinters, slightly change the cutting angle rather than suddenly increasing pressure.

The blades are sharp: keep fingers out of the cutting path, put tools away after use, and never leave them loose on the table. This set should be kept out of reach of children.

MAINTENANCE

After use, remove wood chips and dust with a dry cloth. Avoid storing wet tools to preserve the blades and handles.

A well-maintained blade cuts more cleanly and requires less force. Use the sharpening stone when the edge becomes less precise, then polish lightly if necessary.

Return the tools to the roll-up pouch after complete drying to protect the blades, prevent shocks, and keep the set organized.

COMPLEMENTARY TOOLS

For preparing straight marks, margins, or cut lines before carving, this set can be paired with the aluminum T-square for marking.

To transfer distances, check proportions, or compare several pieces, it can also be used with the measuring and marking compass.

To create durable marks, numbers, or reference points on softwood, you can complete your workshop with the 3 mm number punches.

🤍 Ikane Workshop Tip
Wood carving requires little speed. Working with the grain allows for cleaner cuts, reduces splintering, and maintains more stable blade control.
