A gaiwan is a vessel used for infusing tea directly with the leaves. It allows for more precise control over infusion time, water temperature, and tea concentration than a large teapot.

USE & CARE
Place the leaves in the gaiwan, add hot water suitable for the type of tea, then let it infuse briefly. The lid serves to retain the leaves when pouring into the cups.
For successive infusions, gradually increase the infusion time to follow the tea's evolution. The same leaves can reveal different aromas between the first, second, and third infusions.
After use, rinse with clear water, without an abrasive sponge, then let it dry completely before storing. Avoid significant thermal shocks to preserve the ceramic.
