Matcha Set – Bowl, Bamboo Whisk, and Preparation Accessories

This Matcha set brings together the essential accessories for preparing matcha by hand: a ceramic bowl, a bamboo whisk, a measuring spoon, and a whisk stand.

Each element supports a specific step: measuring the powder, adding hot water, whisking the tea, and then allowing the chasen to dry properly after use. The bowl provides the necessary space for whisking without splashing, while the bamboo whisk helps create a fine foam.

The chashaku allows for consistent matcha scooping, and the whisk stand helps maintain the chasen's shape between uses. Variations in glaze make each bowl slightly different.

INFORMATION

This set is suitable for both those new to matcha and those who wish to establish a more regular preparation routine, with accessories adapted for measuring, whisking, and drying the whisk.

Unlike preparation with a simple kitchen whisk, the bamboo chasen allows you to work the powder into hot water with a quick, light motion, to minimize clumps and form a finer foam.

The whisk stand is useful after rinsing: it helps the chasen dry while maintaining its natural shape, rather than letting the bristles close in or deform.

FEATURES

Item: Matcha preparation set
Contents: Matcha bowl, bamboo whisk, bamboo spoon, and whisk stand
Bowl: Glazed ceramic
Whisk: Bamboo chasen
Spoon: Bamboo chashaku
Whisk stand: Ceramic holder to maintain the chasen's shape

USE & CARE

Place the matcha in the bowl using the chashaku, then add a small amount of hot water. Water around 70 to 80 °C helps preserve the tea's aromas and avoids excessive bitterness.

Whisk with the chasen using a rapid W-shaped motion, without pressing the bristles against the bottom of the bowl. The goal is to aerate the mixture until a fine and even foam is achieved.

After use, rinse the whisk with clear water, without harsh soap, then let it dry on its whisk stand. Rinse the bowl and spoon, then let them dry completely before storage.

PAIR WITH

To create a calmer moment before a drawing, writing, or reading session, this set can be added to the Prepare collection.

It can also accompany a workshop space, an office, or a reading table, when preparing tea becomes a simple way to pause before starting.

🤍 Ikane Workshop Tip
Use water between 70 and 80 °C rather than boiling water. Matcha retains its aromas better, the foam forms more easily, and the bitterness remains more balanced.
