This brush is useful for achieving line precision without losing the flexibility inherent in calligraphy brushes. The tip reacts to pressure, wrist angle, and the amount of ink loaded.
It allows you to transition from a fine line to a slightly wider line, depending on the pressure applied. This variation makes it suitable for characters, outlines, botanical details, ink lines, and control exercises.
The result depends on the paper used: a very absorbent paper will spread the ink more, while a less absorbent paper will maintain a sharper, more controlled line.

USE & CARE
Before first use, gently dampen the tip with clean water to soften it. Then load the brush with ink, without pressing the tip against the bottom of the container or inkstone.
To vary the line, work with angle, pressure, and speed. Light pressure allows for fine lines; more deliberate pressure opens the tip further, creating a wider stroke.
After use, rinse with clean water until the water runs clear, gently reshape the tip with your fingers, then let it dry flat or hanging. Avoid letting ink dry in the tip.

handmade Xuan paper,
suitable for ink practices and variations in absorption.
