Xuan paper roll – calligraphy and ink painting
This Xuan paper roll offers a continuous 24 cm × 2 m surface for calligraphy, ink wash painting, brush drawing, and compositions that require more length than a standard sheet.
It can be unrolled gradually to repeat characters, practice a series of strokes, or build a vertical or horizontal composition.
Two finishes are available: semi-sized to maintain moderate absorption, or mica-sized to further limit diffusion for sharper lines.
CHOOSE THE FINISH
Semi-sized: ink penetrates the paper with moderate diffusion. This finish is suitable for exercises, pressure variations, and strokes where you want some diffusion without quickly losing the shape of the stroke.
Mica-sized: the surface is smoother and limits absorption further. Outlines remain sharper and the finish has a slightly luminous appearance.

USE & STORAGE
Unroll only the length needed and secure the ends with light weights or clips that do not mark the paper.
Perform a test with the same ink before a long composition. The amount of water, the load on the brush, and the speed of your movement significantly alter the diffusion.
Let the ink dry completely before cutting, moving, or re-rolling the paper. Store the roll in a dry place, away from dust.

Before starting a long composition, cut a small strip and practice on it with the intended ink and brush. This allows you to adjust the dilution before using a large length of paper.
