This set of 8 carbon pencils allows you to work with matte, deep, and modulable blacks, without the shine sometimes found with graphite.
Their soft texture is suitable for quick sketches, value studies, gradual shadows, and more structured drawings. The black applies easily, can be layered, blended, and allows you to transition from a light area to a denser mass.
Encased in wood, the pencils maintain a stable and cleaner grip than a bare charcoal stick. Used flat, they lay down volumes and shadows. Used on the tip, they allow you to redefine a contour, mark a line, or reinforce a specific area.

Usage & Care
To build a drawing, start by laying down large masses with the side of the pencil, then return with the tip to define contours, tensions, and shadowed areas.
The material can be blended with a finger, paper, or a blending stump depending on the desired effect. To preserve deep blacks and limit unintentional smudges, it is advisable to lightly fix the drawing between certain layers.

First, work on the shadows in broad masses, without seeking detail too early. Then, use the tip to structure the drawing. Carbon reveals its full depth when calmly layered, coat after coat.
