Jade Effect Ceramic Brush Rest – 6 Ridges for Calligraphy and Watercolor

This glazed ceramic brush rest allows you to place several brushes horizontally between uses, preventing them from rolling off your studio table.

Its six-ridge design keeps tools slightly elevated. This helps preserve brush tips, limit ink or water stains, and keep your workspace cleaner.

The jade effect finish provides a soft, mineral presence, suitable for calligraphy, sumi-e, watercolor, ink, or wash practices.

INFORMATION

The brush rest is used to lay down a brush loaded with water, ink, or color without crushing the tip or directly soiling the table. It allows for better handling of the tool between strokes.

The six ridges allow for separating several brushes: a wash brush, a fine brush, an ink brush, or a brush that has already been rinsed. This separation prevents direct contact between wet tips.

Glazed ceramic is easily cleaned with clear water. The nuances of the jade effect finish, reflections, and surface details may vary slightly from piece to piece.

CHARACTERISTICS

Shape: 6 ridges
Material: glazed ceramic
Finish: jade effect
Function: to hold several brushes horizontally, separate tips, and protect the table

USE & CARE

Place brushes horizontally, resting each handle or tip on a separate ridge. Avoid letting the tips touch when loaded with water, ink, or pigment.

Do not leave a brush soaking tip-down: this can deform the bristles and weaken the ferrule. After rinsing, place the brush horizontally before drying.

Clean the brush rest with clear water after use, especially after dark ink or pigments. Dry thoroughly before storing.

PAIR WITH

For calligraphy and ink, this brush rest can accompany the bamboo calligraphy brush, the traditional rabbit hair brush or the set of 5 Chinese calligraphy brushes.

To prepare traditional ink, you can pair it with ink sticks, the natural ink stone or the beginner's ink stone and stick set.

For watercolor and washes, it can be used with the ArtSecret watercolor brush set, the bamboo flat brush set or the compartmented ceramic palette.

To compare with other studio supports, you can also check out the Blue Dragon ceramic brush rest or the black studio brush holder.

🤍 Ikane Studio Tip
Always lay brushes horizontally between uses. This protects the tip, keeps the table cleaner, and prevents water or ink from accumulating in the ferrule.
