This ceramic brush rest allows you to set down multiple brushes between strokes without letting the tips touch the table directly.
Its six crests keep tools separate and limit contact between brushes loaded with ink, water, or color. It is particularly useful when alternating between several brushes during the same session.
The glazed surface is easy to clean after calligraphy, sumi-e, wash painting, or watercolor.

The brush rest is primarily used while working: place a loaded brush on it temporarily rather than leaving it on the paper, palette, or directly on the table.
The various slots allow you to separate multiple brushes and prevent a tip loaded with ink or pigment from touching the others.

USE & CARE
Place each brush in a separate slot, letting the tip overhang without touching the table. If using multiple colors or dilutions, keep enough space between the tips.
The brush rest is intended for pauses during a session. After thorough rinsing, calligraphy brushes can be dried flat or hung depending on their construction.
Rinse or wipe the ceramic after use if ink or pigment has settled on it. Use a soft sponge and avoid abrasive products.

If you are using multiple ink dilutions, always assign the same slot to each brush during the session. This will help you avoid accidentally picking up a more heavily loaded brush and abruptly changing the value of your stroke.
