Super Vision watercolor pigment – 15 ml tube color for washes and illustration
This Super Vision 15 ml tube watercolor is designed for washes, illustrations, water painting, sketchbooks, and color studies.
Diluted with water, the pigment allows for light transparencies, deeper overlays, cloudy textures, or more saturated areas depending on the amount of water, paper, and brush stroke.
It can be used alone or combined with ink to introduce color into graphic compositions, colored washes, mixed media techniques, or certain colorful calligraphy practices.
INFORMATION
Tube watercolors allow for a more concentrated color than dry pans. They are suitable for large washes, palette mixing, transparent layers, and areas where you want to gradually intensify the color.
The rendering largely depends on the support. Thick watercolor paper handles water better, while very absorbent paper like Xuan or some vegetable papers spread the color more through the fibers.
The color can be worked with light dilution, layering, mixing with other watercolors, or in more concentrated touches to reinforce certain areas of the image.
CHARACTERISTICS
Brand: Super Vision
Volume: 15 ml
Texture: fluid color to be diluted with water
Recommended supports: watercolor paper, cotton paper, Xuan paper, mulberry paper, and supports suitable for wet techniques
Application: watercolor brush, traditional brush, flat brush, or pen depending on the desired effect
USE & MAINTENANCE
Place a small amount of color on a palette, then gradually dilute with water. Starting with little pigment allows you to control transparency before intensifying the color.
For washes, dampen the paper or work on an already wet area to promote diffusion. For sharper lines, use less water and more stable paper.
Close the tube after use to limit drying. Clean brushes with clear water, reshape the tip if necessary, then let the tools dry before storing.
COMPLEMENTARY SUPPORTS & TOOLS
To work with mixes, dilutions, and small quantities of color, this watercolor can be combined with the
compartmented ceramic palette.
For washes, blending, and details, it can be used with the
ArtSecret watercolor brush set
or the
bamboo flat brush set.
For a support suitable for wet techniques, you can use it with the
300 gsm watercolor sketchbook,
which is more stable for washes and overlays.
To experience more absorbent diffusion, especially with ink and colored washes, you can also try the
handmade Xuan paper.
🤍 Ikane Workshop Tip
Work the color in thin layers. Start with plenty of water and little pigment, then gradually intensify. The most beautiful textures often appear when the color slowly diffuses into the paper rather than in a direct flat wash.
