15 ml tube watercolor – wash and illustration

This 15 ml tube watercolor allows you to work with color through dilution, transparency, and layering on paper suitable for wet techniques.

A small amount of paint is enough to prepare a wash. By varying the water, you can go from a very light tint to a more dense color, with the ability to build up several layers gradually.

The tube format is particularly suitable for mixing on a palette, large washes, illustrations, and color studies requiring more material than a simple pickup from a pan.

INFORMATION

The amount of water directly determines the result. A significant dilution lets more of the paper show through; a more concentrated preparation produces a more saturated color.

The surface matters as much as the paint: thick watercolor paper resists wet passes better, while highly absorbent paper diffuses color into the fibers more quickly.

USE & CARE

Place a small amount of paint on a palette, then add water gradually. Preparing several dilutions before starting allows you to easily transition from a light value to a more dense color.

For broad diffusion, work on damp paper. For a sharper edge, use less water or wait for the adjacent area to dry before applying color.

Close the tube after use. Rinse brushes with clear water before the color dries in the fibers, then let them dry flat.

To prepare several colors or dilution levels before painting, use the 5-well ceramic palette .

For lines, small shapes, and controlled washes, pair it with the round watercolor brush .

For backgrounds, flat washes, and wider strokes, use the set of 4 flat bamboo brushes .

Before starting, prepare three swatches of the same color on a scrap piece of the paper you are using: highly diluted, intermediate, and concentrated. Let them dry completely before choosing your dilution, as wet watercolor often looks different once dry.
