Set of 50 Metallic Colored Pencils

This set includes fifty metallic colored pencils to add colorful reflections, luminous details, and contrasts to illustrations, lettering, and notebook pages.

The hues reveal their effect more prominently on black, kraft, or colored papers. They can be used alone or layered over a drawing to highlight a line, brighten a shape, or bring out certain patterns.

The range includes greens, blues, browns, reds, pinks, and purples with metallic reflections. The pencils are for dry use and are suitable for decorative drawing, illustration, journaling, and color studies.

INFORMATION

Metallic pigments reflect light differently depending on the paper color and viewing angle. Their effect is generally more visible on a dark surface than on white paper.

Light pressure allows for a transparent initial layer. Successive strokes gradually enhance the color and metallic effect without needing to press hard on the lead.

These pencils are not presented as watercolor pencils. They are intended for dry use on paper.

FEATURES
  • Number of shades: 50
  • Body: wood
  • Pencil length: approximately 17.5 cm
  • Hardness: 2B
  • Use: dry
  • Recommended surfaces: black, kraft, beige, grey, or colored paper
  • Techniques: illustration, decorative drawing, journaling, lettering, and luminous details
USE & CARE

Test each color on a scrap piece of the paper you are using before starting. The same shade may appear lighter, darker, or more brilliant depending on the color of the surface.

Start with light layers, then gradually increase pressure to intensify the color. To preserve the reflections, avoid immediately saturating the paper's grain.

Sharpen pencils with a clean blade or a sharpener suitable for their diameter. A short tip reduces the risk of breakage when the lead is used with more pressure.

Store pencils in a dry place and avoid shocks to protect the leads inside the wooden body.

TO COMBINE WITH

The beige paper sketchbook offers a slightly tinted background on which metallic colors appear more clearly than on classic white paper.

To build shadows and volumes before adding colorful reflections, combine them with the graphite and charcoal drawing set.

🤍 Ikane workshop tip
On dark paper, start by applying color with light pressure, then intensify only the areas that should catch the light. The contrast between subtle strokes and denser layers makes the metallic effect more visible.
